Today, Progyny congratulates its Medical Director, Dr. Alan Copperman, who has been recognized by Crain’s New York Business as one of its 2022 Notable Health Care Leaders for his significant contributions to advancing our mission to promote successful, inclusive, and efficient access to fertility care.  

The annual list highlights top, New York-based health care leaders who have moved the needle in their organizations, shown commitment to their life-changing work, and brought numerous contributions to their industry. At Progyny, Dr. Copperman serves as the cornerstone of our medical expertise, presenting the most current insights and information around assisted reproductive technology and guiding the future offerings at the company. His approach to reproductive medicine combines individualized, patient-focused care with data-driven medical decisions and the latest advancements in reproductive science, making him an indispensable resource to both our team and Progyny members.

Dr. Alan Copperman 
CEO, Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York; Medical director, Progyny
Copperman is division director and clinical professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He also is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist. He has co-written hundreds of scientific abstracts on in vitro fertilization, egg freezing, ovum donation and genetics. Recently he conducted a landmark study on Covid-19 vaccine safety for fertility patients. Copperman, who is medical director at Progyny, a fertility benefits management company, has led lectures, webinars and panel discussions on genomics; precision medicine; the use of artificial intelligence; and personalized, patient-focused medicine. He serves as fellowship director at the Icahn School of Medicine. Copperman has developed interdisciplinary programs with the Mount Sinai Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery.
