Frequently Asked Questions
Need more information? Give us a call, we’re here to help!
How do I know if I’m eligible for the Progyny benefit?
The Progyny benefit is only available through your (or your partner’s) organization-sponsored benefits and you must be enrolled in an eligible health plan. Your spouse/partner may also be covered if enrolled in an eligible plan. Talk to your HR or benefits team to confirm if they offer Progyny benefits. You can also call Progyny at 833.233.1020 to confirm your eligibility and learn more.
How much will this cost?
Progyny is included in your employer’s health benefits when you are enrolled in an eligible plan. You may have financial responsibility (or out of pocket costs) for certain services depending on your health plan. Please call your dedicated Patient Care Advocate (PCA) to learn more. You can also watch this webinar to learn more about the financial aspects of fertility treatment and what to expect when utilizing the Progyny benefit.
What is a Smart Cycle?
To make your fertility benefit easier to use, we’ve bundled all the individual services, tests, and treatments into the Progyny Smart Cycle, Progyny’s benefit currency. Your available Smart Cycle balance is dependent upon your specific Progyny plan offered through your organization. Each treatment or service is valued as a portion of a Smart Cycle and expressed as a fraction, so you always know your benefit balance. The Smart Cycle is designed for comprehensive coverage. Based on the type of treatment, services such as in-cycle monitoring, anesthesia, assisted hatching, genetic testing, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), medications, and even the first year of storage are all included. That means you won’t run out of coverage mid-cycle, and you can focus on the most effective treatment, regardless of cost.
Does Progyny’s benefit cover all unique paths to parenthood?
Yes, Progyny’s family building benefit was specifically designed to support everyone, including single parents by choice and LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. Contact your PCA to learn more about your family building options.
What if my employer doesn’t offer Progyny?
The Progyny benefit is only available through your (or your partner’s) employer-sponsored benefits and you must be enrolled in an eligible health plan. If you don’t have access to the Progyny benefit, now’s the time to start the conversation. Did you know 64% of organizations that offer a fertility benefit do so because an employee asked for it? Get the conversation started with these resources.
Does Progyny cover fertility medication?
Your plan may include fertility medication, including 24/7 access to a pharmacy clinician to review your medication. If you’re unsure if medication is included with your plan, check with your employer’s plan documents or call your PCA to confirm.
