A Patient Care Advocate
Patient Care Advocates (PCAs) are an integral part of a member’s fertility journey with Progyny, and we would like you to get to know them better. This week, we’re happy to introduce Krishna Patel, a Patient Care Advocate.
Name: Krishna Patel
What’s your background in healthcare/fertility?
I’ve always been in healthcare, but fertility is a newer field for me. I came from Weill Cornell’s OBGYN department, and then began learning the fertility space through trainings.
What do you enjoy the most about being a patient care advocate?
My favorite part about being a PCA is interaction with my members, especially for the first time. I love explaining the benefit to new members and hear how excited they get when they realize that they have Progyny and how low the costs for treatment will be.
What’s your favorite/best moment so far at Progyny?
Being there throughout my members’ paths to parenthood. I had one member that exhausted her Smart Cycle benefits and didn’t think she had any other feasible options to start her family. We discussed the adoption benefit and how it may be an option if she was interested. Since then, she is formalizing the adoption process. I love when members send updates, pictures or just want to talk through their emotions.
What does family mean to you?
Family are the people you can rely on – blood or not. I am close with my family and best friends, but I consider my Progyny co-workers family too!
Give one word to describe the impact you’ve made on a member’s life:
What’s a fun fact about you?
I like traveling – I recently took a trip to Oregon and Seattle!
What’s the last TV series or movie you binge-watched?
Great British Baking Show and Jack Ryan.
Do you have any personal goals for this year?
I want to start doing Yoga on a regular basis and eat healthier through a vegan diet.
